Exchanges
Lowest published entry fee
How this set is ordered: entry taker fees where an order book publishes one, and a spread where it does not, using figures read on 18 October 2026.
One number, on purpose
The list on this page orders exchanges by a single published number: the entry-tier taker fee, in basis points, when the venue publishes a maker/taker schedule. If the product is a spread instead of an order book, the high end of the published BTC/ETH spread is used. Wallets are not in this list. Affiliate links are not an input. A lower number is not a recommendation to open an account, and it is not the cost of the default button in the app.
Every fee in the list was copied from a public page that was read on 18 October 2026, and the profile links the page. If a later schedule disagrees, the venue's page wins and the profile should be corrected. A fact that was not copied is not in the sort.
The order those rules produce
Binance.US Advanced is 0 percent maker and 0.02 percent taker on standard pairs, which is 2 basis points and the bottom of this list. It is a money transmitter licensed in 32 states, NMLS ID 1906829, so the number is irrelevant where it will not open an account. The simple Buy Crypto flow adds a spread. The sort does not use that spread, because an order-book taker was published. Bitstamp, valid from 9 July 2026, is 0.40 percent taker at entry. Crypto.com's exchange table, updated 17 October 2026, starts at 0.50 percent taker, and that table was not verified as the price a US app user sees.
Kraken Pro is 0.80 percent taker at tier 1. Coinbase Advanced is 0.90 percent taker at the intro tier. Robinhood's exchange-routing entry taker is 0.95 percent. Gemini ActiveTrader is 1.20 percent taker. Uphold has no taker cell. The high end of its BTC/ETH spread, about 2.2 percent, is the number used, and it sits at the top of the list. The fee guide multiplies these rates by $1,000 so the gaps are visible as dollars. Those multiplications are arithmetic, not trades we placed.
Robinhood is a special case
US Robinhood Crypto's default route charges no commission. Robinhood is paid a rebate inside the spread, so that route has no taker percent to sort on. Putting it first, as if zero were the measured cost, would hide the spread. Putting it last would pretend the default route costs the exchange-routing price. The list uses the exchange-routing entry taker, 0.95 percent, from the US fee PDF, and the profile says the default route is different. The Canadian 0.50 percent schedule is another company document and is not used.
If you use the default route, ignore Robinhood's position in the list and read the preview you are about to confirm. The spread will not appear as a percent in this table. If you use Legend or another exchange-routed order, the 0.95 percent entry taker is the cell that applies until your volume moves you down the PDF.
What the sort leaves out
Withdrawal fees, network fees, and the spread on a simple buy can exceed a year of the taker gap on a small balance. A 0.02 percent taker on an exchange you must wire money to, in a state that allows it, is not comparable to a no-commission phone app until you have priced the deposit and the withdrawal. This page does not invent those transfer fees. The venue shows them before you confirm.
Re-read the profile when the date on the fact is older than the schedule you see on the venue. The sort is only as current as that read. A blog that reprints our order without the date is not this page.
Custody is not in the number. The cheapest taker fee is still an IOU until you withdraw. A proof-of-reserves post, if the venue has one, is not an input here, and this site does not grade reserves. The token checker is not an input either. A low fee does not make the asset you buy any cleaner. Use the list to see the published entry cost. Use the profile to see the date and the exceptions, including stablecoin pairs that are cheaper than the BTC cell the sort used.
Questions
Basis points are the unit in the sort. One hundred basis points is one percent. Binance.US at 2 basis points is 0.02 percent. Uphold at 220 basis points is 2.2 percent. The list is that conversion, applied once, so a reader does not have to remember which venue quoted a percent and which quoted a fraction of a percent.
Should I open the first exchange on the list? Only if it operates where you live and you will actually use the Advanced schedule. Otherwise you are optimising a cell you will never pay. Check state availability on the venue's own page. Several state lists on these profiles were not re-verified on 18 October 2026 and are marked that way.
Why is Uphold last? Because 2.2 percent is the high end of the BTC/ETH spread it published, and the sort had to use a spread in place of a taker fee. A stablecoin conversion inside Uphold's 0 percent cap is a different cell and can be cheap. The list is not that cell.
How often is this re-read? When a profile is corrected, not on a clock. The date on the fact is the date the page was read. If you are about to trade size, read the venue's current schedule even if our date is recent.
